There's 2 parts, breathing and mental focus.
Breath slow and deep, inhale from the belly, not the chest.
Focus starting with the toes, let them feel warm flowing in, and it spreads to your whole feet, to your ankles, and up, slowly till your whole body is completely relaxed.
While you are trying to relax, other thoughts will come and go. I like to focus on the spreading warmth or the air through the nose, so that no matter what other thoughts come, you return to the relaxing.
Some very important things may come to mind, but while relaxing, you are just relaxing, and everything else can be taken care of another time.
As far as doing relaxation anywhere, you can count.
One is for everything, because everything is one big world.
Two is for you, the world and you.
Three is to be free as the mind, free to choose, free to imagine, free to be no matter what the body and the world does.
Four is for more, more of what you need and want to have on your mind right now.
Five is be alive, observing, knowing, seeing, believing.
Six is to know what we can fix, what we cant fix, having courage, patience, acceptance.
Seven is for heaven, our own private heaven, here inside, if there is a hell, then there is a heaven, and its here now to enjoy, so enjoy it.
Eight is for wait, listen and learn, for things are not always what they seem, and intrusions too soon can interfere with knowing what was really going on.
Nine is for mine. These thoughts are mine. That is all that is truly mine. Everything outside here can come and go but what is mine is here in my head.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Sometimes the wisdom comes late, means you are human.
